    **Research Paper Assignment Instructions**

    **Overview**

In this course, you will build the outline for your dissertation. Your dissertation consists of five chapters, each containing sections, and the student will set up only the first three chapters in this class. These do NOT have to be finished copies, however, the basis of the dissertation will be set up, so you may have a basic framework moving forward in your studies.

NOTE: You will resubmit the same document throughout this course. You will add onto the dissertation with each course milestone (each module). Hence, all the instructions for each part are contained in this document.

NOTE 2: Your committee chair may ask you to add sections or rearrange sections, which is acceptable. This course follows the text’s outline and will not necessarily produce a final dissertation copy, but a framework to present to the chair of the committee. Every dissertation is different, so the length is a guideline. There is no maximum length of each section, unless noted differently.

NOTE 3: For this class, you will use the Dissertation Template given in this Module: Week. Your paper should be a running paper through the first five Modules: Weeks.

    .

Conceptual Draft of Chapter 2 (Literature Review) Instructions

This chapter of the paper is the longest and usually the most difficult for students. Only two prescribed sections are included in chapter 2 as this presents the student’s research into what has been written about the topic. Chapter 2 will begin with an introduction and the student’s strategies to finding literature. The student must give a percentage ratio of his/her sources since 85% of the references in any dissertation must come from peer-reviewed research and 15% may come from other sources.

    [>Management homework help](https://www.sweetstudy.com/fields/business-finance-management)

    **Instructions**

_The Human Resources Director of the LOOZIT! Fitness Center had been observing that her center staff did not appear as upbeat and friendly to clients as they had previously. She was concerned that this would ultimately result in a decline in visits and memberships, so she decided to try to turn the situation around. She suspected that her staff members were under stress, and that this was the reason for the change in their attitude and demeanor. She decided to survey the staff to determine whether they felt their stress levels had increased and what it was about the work environment that might be causing or contributing to the problem._

_Create a survey that would help the LOOZIT! Director gain the information needed to begin to solve her problem._

Referring back one last time to the Loozit! scenario, determine how to establish the reliability of your three methods of data collection: the questionnaire, interview protocol, and observational system you designed. For each one, indicate how you would test to see if it was reliable (what procedures you would undertake). Conclude with a brief discussion of how testing for reliability differs depending on the type of data you are collecting (quantitative or qualitative) and whether observers play a significant role in generating that data.

**_Please respond to each of the questions directly on this document_**(the boxes will expand as needed) and then answer the two reflection questions at the end of the document.

    **_Academic Plan_**

To help you get the most out of your GCU experience, GCU offers support, services, and resources that enhance your academic pursuits. Find your major and program on the following website https://www.gcu.edu/degree-programs and complete the table below:

    | | |
    | — | — |
    | In which program of study are you enrolled, or plan to enroll? | I am currently enrolled in the UNV-303 University Success Course. This class teaches important skills for college. |
    | What are some of the program core courses you are looking forward to taking and why? | I look forward to learning time management and SMART goal planning. These will help me stay organized and reach my goals step by step. I also want to learn how to do personal finance planning so I can manage my money better. |
    | Which courses do you anticipate being the most challenging? Explain why. | Writing an annotated bibliography might be hard. It takes time and I am still learning how to research and write the right format. I might also struggle with learning how to do APA style, which makes me nervous. But I am ready to keep trying until I understand it. |

    **_Spiritual Plan_**

GCU is committed to integrating faith across all aspects of the GCU community. This stems from GCU’s mission to educate students from a Christian perspective and to prepare them for careers that honor God while serving others. Read about GCU's "One Foundation," including the "Ethical Positions Statement" and "Doctrinal Statement," and watch the video "One Foundation: Integration of Faith, Learning, and Work" located at https://www.gcu.edu/why-gcu/christian-identity-and-mission.

After clicking on the link, scroll down to read about GCU's "One Foundation," including the "Ethical Positions Statement" and "Doctrinal Statement. Then click play to watch the "One Foundation: Integration of Faith, Learning, and Work" video.

    | | |
    | — | — |
    | What did you take-away from these videos? How can you apply this to your experience while at GCU? (50-100 words) | I learned that GCU wants students to follow God in school, at work, and in life. They want students to live like Jesus by being kind, honest, and helping others. The video showed that faith is not just for Sundays, but for every day. At GCU, I will try to be a good student who learns well and respects others. I will pray when I feel stressed and ask God for help. I will also try to work in a way that makes God proud. |
    | What does service outside of the classroom mean to you? How can you apply service while at GCU? (50-100 words) | Service outside the classroom means helping people without getting paid or earning a grade. It means caring for others and giving your time to do good things. At GCU, I can do this by joining service clubs, helping with food drives, or going on mission trips. I am available to provide tutoring or support whenever my classmates need assistance. My service to others brings me closer to God while helping me stop being selfish. I want to serve with purity of heart while demonstrating God’s love through my actions to others. |

    **_Career Plan_**

Grand Canyon University offers several career service tools to help you discover potential career paths, build a resume, search for employment, and more. Take a few minutes to take the Career Compass survey located at https://www.focus2career.com/Portal/Register.cfm?SID=810 (Access Code: Purpose).

You can watch the video below to assist you with the registration process: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLnvvHOt5LvE8yBMYeHV4mGPW88Q86ftmw.

After you complete the survey, fill in the following table.
