All submissions must be no more than 10 pages in length (10 pages are the expected length) plus
appendices/references, written in Times New Roman Font 12 (for readability purposes), double-
spaced, with 1.0-inch margins. The appendices and references count as extra pages and must be
properly labeled and formatted. Be sure to give proper credit for sources of information you draw
    upon in your work.

Grading for this assignment primarily focuses upon these three areas which include:

The purpose of this assignment is help you in developing the ability to evaluate a business
through detailed analysis and make appropriate recommendations. It is important to be concise
    and precise throughout the report.

The process is to conduct analysis from several perspectives, identify any shortcomings or
problems (not simply the symptom, but the root-cause), provide possible solutions, make a
decision/recommendation for a specific solution, outline an implementation plan, and set
    measures to identify progress.

As the text states in Chapter 1, “Strategic management consists of the analyses, decisions, and
actions an organization undertakes in order to create and sustain competitive advantages.” That
is your mission during this case assignment.”

    Tips include:
    – In your response be concise and to the point.
    – Identify a problem that will be new to the Board.
    – Think outside the box. Be creative with your solution. This is very important!
    – Conduct outside research + use of the course text to support your submission.
    – Helpful to include input from employees/customers/competitor customers for your project.
    – Chapter 13 of the text provides helpful information regarding “how to” conduct case studies.
    – Be sure to include your name, course, and date at the start of the report.
    – Encouraged to use headings throughout the report that follow the outline listed below.
    – It will be challenging to keep the report within 10 pages. Focus on writing in a concise manner.

    Scenario
You have been selected to serve as a consultant for a business/organization for a sum of
$250,000. The client expects a well done and well thought out recommendation. If you are
successful in this endeavor, the client has additional consulting projects that you would likely be
afforded. The recipient and evaluator of your work is the Board of Directors.

It has been several years since this business/organization has done a detailed review from an
outside party. There is the need to conduct a deep and thorough analysis, pinpointing the
primary issues (problems) facing the company, and of your recommendation to address.

At the end of the day, the client expects that you will both pinpoint an issue and recommendation
that will be new to the Board. The objective is to enhance the company’s competitive advantage.

    F25

The recipient of your work is the Board of Directors. They expect precision, and a writing style
that “says what needs to be said in as few words as possible.” Charts, graphs, tables, bullet points
    are welcomed.

Details on your selection process for the particular company or organization that you select is
found at the conclusion of this document.

    Part I. Purpose
    Length: One sentence.

What is the stated purpose of your report? What are you hoping to accomplish?

    Part II Introduction

    Introduction
    Length: One to two paragraphs.

Provide a brief overview of the business/organization highlighting its history, present state, and
    general market it serves.

    Part III. Analysis
    Length: 7 pages

    – External Environments.
    3. What do the “five forces” model developed by Michael E. Porter (Chapter 2) point out
    regarding your firm’s competitive posture?

    – Internal Environment.
    4. Do any of the four criteria for assessing sustainability of resources and capabilities
(Chapter 3 – Exhibit 3.6) point out a competitive advantage for your firm?

    – Financial.
    5. Using financial ratio techniques, of your choice, (Chapter 13 – Exhibit 13.1) review the
financial position of your firm. Are there any concerns?
    6. This is not an exhaustive financial report. Do need to use data, which can be attached
to the appendix, to support your perspective on the firm’s financial health.

    – Human Capital
    7. How might your firm improve and/or make no needed changes in their approach to
recruit, develop, and retain (Chapter 4) their employees?

    – Generic Strategies
    8. Michael Porter (Chapter 5) presents three strategies to achieve a competitive

    F25

three does your firm practice? Is that appropriate or need to be changed?

    – Industry Life Cycle

and decline. What stage is your firm at? How does that impact their strategic direction?

    – Competitive Actions
    11. Firms need to identify how they are going to respond to competition. Is it in your
firm’s best interest to react or be proactive by aggressively attacking? Do methods such as

    Part IV. Decision

    you to identify this problem?

    Part V. Action
    Length: .50 of a page

State in a single sentence your stated recommendation that you will provide to the Board.

What are three potential solutions that you wish to briefly present?

How can your recommendation be monitored and/or measure its effectiveness?

    Part VI. Conclusion

    text citations.

Selecting your specific company or organization.

There are two options available in selecting the organization which you choose to review. You
only need to select one of the two options. It will be more meaningful if you select a specific
company or organization that you have a genuine interest in.

    Publicly Traded Company.
If you have a specific company within an industry that you are interested in, that can be an
option. A publicly traded company is much easier to find key information for your analysis.

If a publicly traded company is chosen, please state why you selected it as you start your report.

    One
Again, simply choose one company or organization that you will conduct your case analysis on.

    Reminder
As a reminder, approach the assignment with an open mind. Through your analysis, that is
where you will identify the primary issue. Do not approach with an issue at the start that you are
trying to prove. Your role as the consultant is to pinpoint an issue/recommendation that will be
    new to the Board.

    Chapter 37

    The Apostrophe (‘)

There are two main uses of the
    apostrophe:

    1. To show the omission of one or more
    letters in a contraction.

    2. To show ownership or possession.

    ‘

    College Writing Skills/CWS with Readings, 8E © 2011 The McGraw-Hill Companies, Inc.

    Chapter 37

A contraction is formed when two words
combine to make one word. The
apostrophe is used to indicate letters that
    have been dropped.

    The Apostrophe in Contractions (‘)

    WILLI +
    WE + HAVE = WE’LL

    = I’LL

    Chapter 37

Using an apostrophe and the letter s indicates
    possession:

    • Joe’s rabbit
    • My brother’s carrot
    • The company’s credit card

Apostrophe to Show Ownership or Posession

Note: the ’s always goes with the possessor. Using the first example
above, the RABBIT belongs to JOE so it’s “Joe’s rabbit.”

    Chapter 37

    Using ’s with Plurals

An apostrophe plus s is used
    to show possession with a
singular word even if the word
already ends in s. So, if a
    rabbit belongs to Bess, you
    would write “Bess’s rabbit.”

This was initially limited to a small segment of U.S. population who were chronically ill due to
kidney failure and were on hemodialysis.

    Shifting Donor Ethics
Every donor determination of brain death needs to be assessed by a different team not
involved in the care of the patient.
As the demand for donor organs has increased, the profile of the cadaveric donor has
changed over time. Early donors were young individuals usually involved in vehicular motor
accidents or the victims of trauma. Recently, the profile of the cadaveric donor has shifted to
the older donor whose death is more likely secondary to cerebral vascular accident or of
cardiac origin. This distinction is essential in the context of organ distribution as the outcome
of organ transplantation from the older donor is less ideal than the result from the younger
    donor.

United Network of Organ Sharing (UNOS) System
Because of the multiple problems that the United States face regarding organ transplants,
    the UNOS made guidelines.
    Donor family must be given adequate informed consent;
    Be aware of the potential risk and understand this risk;
There is a system for the end stage of disease called the Mayo Model for End-Stage Liver
    Disease (MELD) system.
For the distribution of organs, the petitioner is assigned points based on objective promises
that taken together dictate their chance of dying without transplantation.
The altruistic method is in place and continues to be the driving force in United States.
Organ distribution would be to assign a place in line to the most gravely ill patients. This
method of delivery underlies the use of the MELD system for liver distribution.

    Supply Demands
Supply and demand correlate economics with payment for transplantation. Organ availability
    is limited.
One argument against the buying and selling of organs is that this practice will undermine
the system that currently exists, which is based on altruism.
The commercialization of the organ is not ethical and not taken into consideration.
The change in demographics of the cadaveric donor population raised additional issues in
organ allocation. As older donors are accepted for transplantation, it has been established
that kidneys and livers fare less well than organs from younger donors.

    Ethics Issues
    Transplant Tourism

Transplant tourism was developed for organ selling. This brought about ethical issues related to
paying donors for their body parts.

    2089255 – Taylor and Francis ©

In certain countries, sometimes it’s been oversight and therefore led many patients the United
States to travel to other countries this country to receive an organ.

    Remuneration
The U.S. law doesn’t allow the exchange of organ for remuneration.
The proposals of donor rumination is still in discussion.
Paying to eliminate the waiting list for organ transplantation will direct most of the
transplants to high society and middle class and will eliminate the lower class.

A weak or disadvantaged individual has the right to determine whether he/she exchanges a
kidney for money. Furthermore, it is argued that the paternalistic attitude that the poor should
not profit from the sale of their organs does not attempt to find other solutions for the economic
disparities which exist among different groups within societies.

Many U.S. physicians feel obligated to inform patients that a life-saving organ is more readily
available in another country through the existing program of allocation.

The UNOS Ethics Committee has issued the following statement regarding transplant tourism:

the Committee would be remiss in failing to observe that the practice of transplant tourism might
not exist but for the growing disparity between the demand for and supply of organs. It is the solemn
obligation of the transplant community, not only to publicly condemn the exploitative practices of
transplant tourism but to endorse ethically defensible policies, which will ultimately render such
    exercise unnecessary.

    Living Related
Allocation of organ is difficult and complex and raised many ethical issues.
Living related donors open different ethical issues.
Using a living related donor is becoming more common in organ transplants.
Usually, it is a relative donating to another relative.
In Germany and France altruistic donors are not used readily.
In Germany and France, donor recipients are required to prove a long-standing relationship
    with their donors.

The increasing disparity between the waiting list for solid organs and the cadaveric organs
available has once again made live donors an increasingly important source of solid organs
in the United States. In 2002, the number of live donors for transplant exceeded the number
    of cadaveric transplants done.

The U.S. UNOS guidelines dictates that the donor must be given adequate informed
consent with clearly articulated potential risks and must understand these risks and that
there is “donor benefit” in a donation. Presumably, this relates to psychological benefit
regarding improved self-esteem for being of help to another person.

    Prisoners
Federal law prohibits the sale of organs in the United States. The U.S. prohibition of the sale
of organs dates to 1984. The World Health Organization issued a similar ban in 1994. The
lack of observance of these prohibitions in other countries has led to the widespread
commercialization of organs in those countries.

The Chinese transplant community has used the organs from executed prisoners as a source
for transplantation; the government has stated that both the prisoners and their families
have given consent to organ donation, but the issue of the use of organs without permission,
the crimes for which execution is employed in China and the use of political prisoners for
organ donation have all been raised as questions in the lay press.
Recent events in China have opened the door for transplant tourism.
The Chinese transplantation committee uses organs from executed prisoners as a source of
    transplantation.
The government has stated that both the prisoner and their family have given consent to
    organ donation.
But without consent it is a crime and is being over overseen by the government.

    Donor Strict Evaluation
A potential solution is a nonprofit entity or governmental agency to conduct evaluation of
    donor requirements.
    Psychological state.
The motivation of the donor needs to be addressed – sometimes the reasons are financial
and sometimes they can be pressure.

    **## CensusAssignment.docx**

You will complete this assignment as if you have been asked to provide an engaging and informative help resource for new administrators that addresses the following topics:

    1. How to navigate the needs and expectations of differing stakeholders: recognize and strategize for a win-win every time

    2. Conflicting values and principles of different groups: what to look for, how to empathize, and adjusting your approach

    3. Ethical dilemmas: what to expect, what to do, and what not to do

Each point should receive a response between 300-400 words and should be informed by the textbook which I attached a portion of it and two other references.

    [>Telecommunications Engineering homework help](https://www.sweetstudy.com/fields/engineering-telecommunications-engineering)

**LAB: Accessing TrixBox Server & Resetting to Defaults**

    1) Access the TrixBox server via IP address 192.168.1.3/24 with 192.168.2.100 as the gateway.

_Note:_ _Internet Explorer encounters problems connecting to the TrixBox server, Mozilla Firefox should be used. IP address may need to be configured manually in the Network Connections settings of Windows to allow proper connectivity._

    2) The TrixBox User GUI should appear. At the top right **User mode – switch** should appear. Click **switch**.

    3) Enter the username ‘maint,’ and password ‘password.’

    4) You are now in _maintenance mod_ e and can manually set certain features back to defaults.

    5) Click on the **PBX** tab and select **PBX Settings**.

    ![](https://www.sweetstudy.com/questions/net-364-lab-3)

    6) On the left side list, under **Basic**, select **Extensions**.

    7) Now, if extensions have been created, they should appear on the right side, (ie: Jane Doe, John Smith, etc).

    ![](https://www.sweetstudy.com/questions/net-364-lab-3)

    8) Once clicked on, their details should appear. Select **Delete Extension ####** which is at the top of the page.

    ![](https://www.sweetstudy.com/questions/net-364-lab-3)

    9) Repeat step 8 for all extensions.

    10) System recordings will need to be deleted. Select System Recordings on the left side list, (at the bottom). Delete all but the highlighted recordings in the picture below, (similar to deleting extensions).

    ![](https://www.sweetstudy.com/questions/net-364-lab-3)

    11) After all extensions have been deleted and all settings have been changed, click **Apply Configuration Settings** at the top.

    ![](https://www.sweetstudy.com/questions/net-364-lab-3)

    12) X-Lite 4 soft phones will not need to be reset to defaults since they are installed in a Deep Freeze environment and automatically get reset when computers are restarted.

    13) To reset the hard phones, simply select the **menu** button, **config**, and find **factory reset**.

    14) The TrixBox server, soft phones, and hard phones should now be set to nearest defaults.

YOU SHOULD NOT have to complete these last steps. In the case were somebody does something that they should not have done or if some natural disaster strikes then these step will be necessary.

    1) If there is a power failure or the router is unplugged, log into the router via console and use the command:  _copy startup-config running-config_

    2) The trixbox server is the means through which all of the phones can communicate and store their information. The trixbox version is 2.8.0.3 and is installed on the Dell Power Edge 1750 server. If, for some reason, the trixbox server becomes unusable or corrupted it will then need to be reinstalled. The Trixbox CD is provided and the steps to restore the system are as follows.

    1. Make sure that the server is set up to boot from disk.

    2. Set the burned disk inside the CD-ROM drive and reboot the server.

    3. You should see the following screen. Press enter when you are ready and remember that it will format the whole drive. ![](https://www.sweetstudy.com/questions/net-364-lab-3)

    4. Next, you should choose your keyboard type which should be ‘us’![](https://www.sweetstudy.com/questions/net-364-lab-3)

    5. Next, select your appropriate time zone which should be central time. ![](https://www.sweetstudy.com/questions/net-364-lab-3)

    6. Next, set the root password.

    ![](https://www.sweetstudy.com/questions/net-364-lab-3)

    7. Now the installation process will start. When the installation is complete the computer should restart. Please note that you will have to take out the disk when the computer restart or else it will take you back to the beginning of the installation process.

    8. After you log in with the password that you created, you need to then enable the interfaces. First you need to run the #system-config-network command and add the following information on both interfaces. ![](https://www.sweetstudy.com/questions/net-364-lab-3)

    9. Now everything should be back to its original defaults.
